A registered surrogacy clinic is a facility that has been granted registration under the Surrogacy (Regulation) Act, 2021 by the Appropriate Authority, and appears on the National ART & Surrogacy Registry. Only a registered surrogacy clinic may lawfully carry out surrogacy procedures, and it must comply with consent, insurance, certification and record-keeping requirements under the Act and Rules. Before proceeding with a surrogacy arrangement, commissioning couples and surrogates can check a clinic's current registration status on the National ART & Surrogacy Registry, in the same way patients check ART clinic registration.
