Asherman syndrome is the clinical condition caused by significant intrauterine adhesions: periods become very light or stop, and implantation may fail or miscarriage may recur. It is usually treated with hysteroscopic surgery to remove the adhesions, sometimes with measures to prevent them reforming. Outcomes depend on how severe the scarring was.
