Pregnancy after treatment
An ectopic pregnancy develops outside the uterine cavity, most often in a fallopian tube, where it cannot survive and may cause serious internal bleeding. Risk is higher with previous tubal damage, infection or a previous ectopic. Severe or one-sided abdominal pain, shoulder-tip pain, faintness or heavy bleeding in early pregnancy needs emergency assessment at the nearest hospital, not a routine appointment.
