Pregnancy after treatment
PUL describes a positive hCG result where the scan cannot yet show a pregnancy in the womb or elsewhere. It may simply be very early, but it can also indicate an early loss or an ectopic pregnancy, so it is followed with repeat hCG tests and scans. Seek urgent care if you develop severe or one-sided abdominal pain, shoulder-tip pain, heavy bleeding or faintness while being monitored.
