Pregnancy after treatment
A repeat beta hCG compares the level with the first test, usually about 48 hours apart. In an early, developing pregnancy the level typically rises substantially over that period, while a slow rise, plateau or fall may indicate an early loss or a pregnancy in the wrong place and needs clinical follow-up. Numbers vary widely between healthy pregnancies, so the pattern matters more than the exact figure.
