Implantation

Implantation is the process in which a blastocyst attaches to the endometrium and burrows into it, allowing a placenta to begin forming and hCG to be released. It usually happens about six to ten days after fertilisation, or a few days after a blastocyst transfer. Implantation cannot be felt reliably, and light spotting around this time may or may not be related to it.
