A mosaic result means the sampled cells included both chromosomally normal and abnormal cells. Some mosaic embryos have resulted in healthy babies, and interpretation depends on which chromosomes are involved and the proportion affected. Decisions about transferring a mosaic embryo should be made with genetic counselling.
