Tests & investigations
A pelvic ultrasound looks at the size and shape of the womb, the ovaries and any fibroids, cysts or fluid. An abdominal scan needs a full bladder; the internal (transvaginal) route gives more detail. It is often one of the first investigations arranged when fertility is being assessed.
