Uterine fibroids

Fibroids are benign growths of uterine muscle, very common and often harmless. Whether they affect fertility depends mainly on position: those distorting the cavity (submucosal) are most likely to interfere with implantation and may be removed, while small fibroids in the outer wall usually need no treatment before fertility care. Symptoms can include heavy bleeding, pressure and pain.
