PGT (preimplantation genetic testing)

PGT is the umbrella term for genetic testing of embryos created through IVF, covering PGT-A for chromosome numbers, PGT-M for a specific inherited condition and PGT-SR for structural rearrangements. It requires a biopsy, freezing and specialist laboratory analysis, adding cost and time. It does not guarantee a pregnancy or a healthy baby, and it cannot detect every condition.
