Progesterone pessary

A progesterone pessary is inserted vaginally, delivering the hormone close to the womb. Some people notice discharge or mild irritation, and clinics differ on whether they may be used rectally if vaginal use is uncomfortable — ask rather than assume. Pessaries, gels and injections are not interchangeable without clinic instruction.
