Sharps disposal

Used needles and syringes must go into a rigid, puncture-proof sharps container, never into a household bin or recycling. Clinics and pharmacies in South Africa usually supply a container and will accept it back when full, or advise where it may be taken. Never recap a needle by hand or leave a sharps container where children can reach it.
