Single embryo transfer (SET)

Single embryo transfer places one embryo in the womb. Because twin and triplet pregnancies carry substantially higher risks for both the mother and the babies — including preterm birth, high blood pressure and low birth weight — transferring one embryo at a time, with others frozen for later, is widely recommended.
