Subfertility

Subfertility describes a reduced chance of conceiving each month rather than an absolute inability to conceive. Many couples described as subfertile do conceive without treatment, though it may take longer. Doctors sometimes prefer this word to 'infertility' because it reflects that the chance is lowered, not zero.
