Treatment
ART covers IVF, ICSI, frozen embryo transfer, donor treatment and surrogacy — anything where eggs, sperm or embryos are handled in a laboratory. Ovulation induction and IUI are fertility treatments but are not usually counted as ART. The distinction matters because ART is what Australian accreditation, ethical guidelines and ANZARD reporting apply to.
