Conditions
Fibroids are common and often harmless. Their effect on fertility depends on position: those distorting the uterine cavity (submucosal) reduce implantation and are usually removed, while small fibroids in the outer wall generally need no treatment. Large fibroids can cause heavy bleeding, pressure symptoms and pain.
