Myomectomy removes fibroids by hysteroscopy, laparoscopy or open surgery depending on their size and position. It is chosen when fibroids affect fertility or cause significant symptoms. Recovery time and any recommended wait before trying to conceive vary with the approach, and scarring of the uterine wall may affect delivery planning.
