Fertility basics
Live birth is the outcome that matters most to people having treatment, and the one Australian reporting focuses on. In ANZARD reporting a live delivery is counted once per birth event, so a twin birth counts as one live delivery rather than two. When comparing clinics, check whether a figure describes live births, live deliveries, clinical pregnancies or positive tests, because these are not interchangeable.
