Fertility basics
Maternal age is the single strongest predictor of IVF outcome, mainly because the proportion of eggs with the right number of chromosomes falls with age. Australian success-rate reporting is always presented in age bands for this reason. When comparing clinics or considering egg freezing, look at figures for your own age group rather than an overall average.
