Medicare

Medicare covers part of the cost of many fertility services, including specialist consultations, ultrasounds, blood tests, egg collection, laboratory procedures and embryo transfer, where clinical criteria are met. It does not cover everything — day-hospital fees, some add-ons, storage, donor costs and most social egg freezing sit outside it. You need a valid Medicare card and, for rebated specialist care, a current referral.
