Cycle and ovulation
Mittelschmerz is mild ovulation pain felt on one side of the lower abdomen, lasting hours to a couple of days. It is common and harmless, though severe or prolonged pelvic pain is not, and needs assessment — particularly during fertility treatment when OHSS or ovarian torsion must be excluded.
