A septate uterus is a congenital variation where a wedge of tissue partially divides the cavity. It is associated with miscarriage and, in some cases, with difficulty conceiving. Hysteroscopic division is sometimes offered, though the evidence for improved outcomes is debated and the decision should be individualised.
