Fresh embryo transfer

Transferring an embryo in the same cycle the eggs were collected.

IVF & IUI

A fresh transfer places an embryo into the womb two to six days after egg collection, in the same stimulated cycle. It avoids a freeze-and-thaw step and shortens the timeline, but the hormone levels created by stimulation can affect the womb lining, and it is not advisable when OHSS risk is high. Many South African clinics now freeze all embryos in those situations.
