Ovarian reserve describes the pool of eggs left in the ovaries, estimated with AMH and an antral follicle count, and sometimes early-cycle FSH. It predicts how many eggs a stimulation cycle may yield and helps plan the dose of medicine. It says much less about egg quality, which is influenced mostly by age, and it does not predict natural conception on its own.
