Pelvic adhesions

Pelvic adhesions are internal scar tissue, typically following infection, endometriosis or abdominal or pelvic surgery including caesarean section. They can distort the relationship between the ovary and the fallopian tube so an egg is not picked up, and can cause pain. They are usually only confirmed at laparoscopy.
