Conditions
Adenomyosis causes heavy, painful periods and a bulky uterus, and is increasingly recognised on ultrasound and MRI rather than only after hysterectomy. It may reduce implantation rates and increase miscarriage risk, though evidence is still developing. Management before treatment sometimes includes hormonal suppression before a frozen embryo transfer.
