Conditions
Endometriosis affects around one in seven Australian women and people assigned female at birth. It causes period pain, pelvic pain, pain with sex and bowel or bladder symptoms, and it can reduce fertility through inflammation, adhesions, ovarian damage and distorted anatomy. Diagnosis has historically been delayed by years. Australia has a National Action Plan for Endometriosis and a network of endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics.
