PGT-SR is offered when one partner has a structural chromosome rearrangement such as a balanced translocation or inversion. These carriers are usually healthy but produce a high proportion of unbalanced eggs or sperm, causing repeated miscarriage. Testing identifies embryos with a balanced or normal arrangement.
