Method

  1. Step 1. In a bowl, mix the turkey mince, breadcrumbs, egg and half the garlic, then season and shape into 16 meatballs.
  2. Step 2. Heat the oil in a large pan and brown the meatballs on all sides for 5 minutes, then set aside.
  3. Step 3. In the same pan, fry the onion and remaining garlic for 5 minutes until softened.
  4. Step 4. Add the chopped tomatoes and basil, bring to a simmer, then return the meatballs to the pan.
  5. Step 5. Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked until piping hot throughout with no pink meat remaining.
  6. Step 6. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pan of boiling water according to the packet instructions.
  7. Step 7. Drain the pasta and serve with the meatballs and sauce while hot.
